The Wulver’s Stane
Our name comes from Shetland folklore, and from a rock.
The Wulver was a solitary, benevolent spirit with the body of a man and the head of a wolf. He kept to a stone outcrop above the water — the Wulver’s Stane — where he fished the deep water for hours at a time, watching the coast.
He was known for two things. He left fresh fish on the windowsills of families who were struggling, without being asked and without being seen. And when travelers lost their way in the northern mists, he walked them out.
He didn’t demand attention. He provided quiet abundance, steady protection, and clear direction — from a fixed point that didn’t move.
That’s the name: the Wulver, and the stone he worked from.

The Engineer Behind Wolverstone
Wolverstone is led by Brody Dersch, who has been building and maintaining technology systems for roughly thirty years.
He built his mother’s first business computer at eight. At twelve he was working alongside his father as a computer consultant, installing Thinnet networks for local businesses. At sixteen he was hired as an assistant network administrator for his high school. Over three years there, he and two others installed more than two hundred endpoints and four servers, pulled thousands of feet of network cable, and took part in one of the first fiber deployments in New York State.
During the same period he was studying audio-visual systems, working in the high school television studio, and running production technology for the school theater. In college he led the production department of a publishing and marketing business while maintaining its network, servers, and endpoints. He still runs sound for a local church and a nonprofit.
He founded Wolverstone in 2010, initially part-time, while continuing his education across several fields. The work has stayed the same throughout: design the environment properly, document it completely, and keep it boring.
Wolverstone Solutions is a Microsoft Partner and a Ubiquiti UniFi Partner. The practice is built around the Microsoft ecosystem, with UniFi for networking.
